Mysterious damage & disappearance

Generally very good but I've just had the same experience others have mentioned where 2 paperbacks were rejected because covers were "missing or damaged". That was not the case when they left me and they were very well packed. Another book was "not received" yet it was definitely in the same parcel as those that were! How can this be?
